Brooklyn’s West Indian Day Parade was witness to a shooting incident in which seven people were wounded and one killed in a hail of gunfire. This brought the total number of shooting incidents to 43 over the Labor Day weekend, with 24 being recorded every hour for 24 hours beginning this past Saturday at 6 AM. Earlier on Saturday during J’Ouvert, the pre-parade celebration, several men were shot during an altercation at a barbecue. Basically there was violence all along the parade route, with shootings and stabbings commonplace during the long weekend. It reads like absolute hell honestly.
