A Chinese monitoring ship, Yuzheng35001, entered the contiguous zone around the disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu islands, according to a report from the Asahi Shimbun in Japan.
The Japanese Coast Guard has vowed to prevent a landing by any means.
The Yuzheng35001 is a possible accompaniment to the 1000 fishing boats that were reportedly heading for the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands yesterday.
The JCG plans to chase away any fishing boats that come into Japanese territorial waters.
