Mitt Romney conceded the U.S. presidential election to Barack Obama and expressed gratitude to his supporters at his campaign headquarters in Boston. He thanked his team, his wife, and especially his running mate, Paul Ryan, who he calls the ‘second best choice’ he has made in terms of a mate, the first being his wife Ann. Governor Romney reiterated the need for Republicans and Democrats to come together in a spirit of bipartisanship to find solutions to the myriad of problems facing the United States. Looking emotional as he spoke, Governor Romney nonetheless spoke evenly throughout what was no doubt one of the most difficult speeches he has had to give in his life. Mitt Romney reiterated his belief in America and the values the United States represents.
“The nation as you know is a critical point. We can’t risk partisan bickering. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle. We look to job creators of all kinds, we’re counting on you to hire, to invest, to step forward.”
