A 13-year old boy in Clydebank, Scotland in the United Kingdom allegedly slashed his younger friend’s throat after playing a round of Gears of War 3. The two boys met over X Box Live and there was apparently no ill-will between them prior to the attack.
The attack was allegedly provoked by an insult which resulted in the 13-year old slashing the younger boy’s throat. Chillingly, before leaving his friend mortally wounded, he said, ‘Don’t die.’ Authorities believe the violent nature of Gears of War 3 influenced the boy’s behavior. While the victim survived, he is traumatized by the experience.
