Valve revealed version 2 of their Steambox controller concept and this iteration loses much of what made the first version so controversial but reveals a company that is serious about establishing parity between PC gaming and console based video games technology.
Video gaming on the computer has suffered for many years but Valve’s revolutionary Steam has breathed new life into what many had left for dead just a decade ago. While it remains to be seen whether Gabe Newell’s vision for the future of video gaming will come to pass, the ability of Valve and Steam to disrupt the gaming industry as a whole can have nothing but a positive effect in spurring further innovation from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.
